Geographic Information System (GIS) "With a geographic information system (GIS), you can link information (attributes) to location data, such as people to addresses, buildings to parcels, or streets within a network. You can then layer that information to give you a better understanding of how it all works together. You choose what layers to combine based on what questions you need to answer." - GIS.com EUPRPDC assists EUP Counties and communities with mapping needs, from Master Plans and Recreation to specialty projects like zoning and transportation. EUPRPDC maintains a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for the 3 EUP Counties, and has a great deal of digital GIS information available. EUPRPDC also houses a variety of data for internal use that it receives from the Counties, jurisdictions, and other Agencies that cannot be distributed without proper consent. EUPRPDC uses the ESRI ArcGIS suite to create its mapping products and services. EUPRPDC also utilizes a Magellan MobileMapper 6 with ArcPad 10 to capture GPS data.
