EASTERN U.P. REGIONAL GROWTH STRATEGY As a result of the recently completed New Economy 101, 201 and 301 sessions conducted in the Eastern U.P., a group of stakeholders that attended these sessions are beginning the process of developing a Regional Growth Strategy for the Eastern U.P. Region. Regional Planning will be assisting this group in facilitating discussions to identify strategies and tactics in order to develop this plan.
The Michigan Prosperity Initiative (MPI) is an innovative effort by Michigan State University, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Michigan Association of Regions, the Michigan Municipal League, the Michigan Townships Association, the Michigan Association of Planning, Michigan State University Extension, the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources; the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station; Michigan Citizen Planner; and the Planning & Zoning Center to help return economic prosperity to the state. The MSU Land Policy Institute (LPI) is leading this effort.
