Lakefield Township is located in the southwestern corner of Luce County. The smallest township in the county is 72.1 square miles, of which 12 percent is covered by water. Half of the township’s southern border is Manistique Lake – a vacation destination for those who enjoy boating and fishing. Lakefield Township is also home to the Luce County Park, a 40-acre park with swimming, boat launch, picnic facilities, camping, and more. The unincorporated community of Helmer is also located in this township.
