As the CEO of EUPRPDC, Jeff supervises all of the projects and programs carried out by staff, development of the annual work plan, budget preparation and serves on various local, regional, and other bodies, provides information, and supervises staff. Mr. Hagan is currently serving as Vice-President on the Michigan Association of Regions (MAR) board of directors, Board member of the UP Economic Development Alliance, member of the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy Board of Directors, and a member of the Chippewa County EDC Board of directors. He holds a B.S. in Land Use Planning and Area Management from Lake Superior State University and has been with the Commission since 2000, and its Director/CEO since 2007.
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Ellen participates in agency administration, including policy and program development. She supervises planners and clerical staff, coordinates research and analysis, and data compilation. Ellen is also responsible for administering and preparing the financial statements of the Commission, administering the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Regional Regranting program for the Eastern U.P. She also plays an integral role in our Transportation Planning, Coastal Zone Management, Trails Initiatives, and Hazard Mitigation Planning programs. She holds a degree in Business Data Processing from LSSU and has been with the Agency since 1987.
Nathan manages the GIS Department and leads the Commission’s efforts on mapping support for various grants and all projects. He is also the MDOT Asset Management Coordinator and assists on various transportation planning-related projects. Nathan holds a degree in GIS and Natural Resources from Lake Superior State University and has been at the Regional Planning Commission since 2012.
Mary Ann is a veteran planner who re-entered the workforce as a part-timer, in response to disruptions caused by COVID-19. She will contribute to recovery and resilience planning efforts for the Eastern UP, and help address regional economic issues aggravated by the pandemic. She will also seek opportunities to apply her environmental and cultural resource planning skills to enhance regional assets for residents and visitors alike.
Katrina is new to EUP Planning Commission. She is a 2019 graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning. She is excited to contribute to the Eastern UP as they move forward through various programs and projects.
Brittney joined the EUP team as an Intern in May 2023. She is currently managing all of the commission’s various social media pages, and assisting with marketing and promotion. She is presently a student at Lake Superior State University, studying for her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a focus in Professional Communications/Marketing.
Kim started with the Commission in July 2016, after a long and fulfilling career with the Michigan Works! agency in the EUP. She provides administrative support to the planning staff, assists with the daily operations of the Commission’s office in Sault Ste. Marie, and is the Board’s recording Secretary.
