Notice of Public Hearing
The Whitefish Township Board of Trustees is seeking public comment on proposed zoning ordinance text amendments intended to regulate any Data Center Land Use in Whitefish Township. Residents and stakeholders are invited to provide their input as regulations are established. A Public Hearing on this matter will be held at 6 pm on Thursday November 12th 2026 at the Township Community Center 7052 N M123 Paradise, Michigan. All who have an interest are encouraged to attend and make their views known at this time.

The document “Data Center Facility Zoning Ordinance Amendments,” is available for public inspection at the Township offices. The proposed amendments: add Data Centers as a Conditional Use by Special Approval only within the Light Industrial Zoning District, define setback requirements, specify application procedures, impose operational standards, as well as other zoning regulations and definitions for Data Centers, intended to protect and safeguard the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Whitefish Township while also promoting effective and efficient land use by any Data Center in accordance with the Master Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
Written comments submitted to the Whitefish Township Clerk, PO BOX 350, Paradise, MI 49768, or to clerk@whitefishtownshipmi.gov, must be received no later than the day of the Public Hearing.
This notice is posted in compliance with Public Act 267 of 1976, as amended, the Open Meetings Act, MCLA 41.72A (2) (3), and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Whitefish Township Board will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as a public address system (sound amplification) and audio tapes of printed materials under consideration at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities. Those requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Whitefish Township Board by writing or calling the Whitefish Township Clerk at least 5 days prior to each meeting.
