Draft Parks and Recreation Plan Availability for Review and
Notice of Public Hearing

This is a notice that a copy of the draft Bay Mills Township Parks and Recreation Plan 2025- 2029 is available for public review at the Township Office, located at 14740 W. Lakeshore Dr., Brimley, MI, 49715, the library of Bay Mills Community College located at 12214 W. Lakeshore Dr. Brimley, MI, 49715, the Township website at www.baymillstownship.org, and the Eastern Upper Peninsula Regional Planning and Development Commission’s website (link found below).

A Parks and Recreation Plan assists the Township in identifying recreation needs. The plan will serve as a guide to document priorities for improvements. When approved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), the plan qualifies the Township for recreation grants, which are administered through the MDNR. The proposed plan includes a community description, an overview of the administrative structure of the Township, an inventory of existing facilities, a recreation needs analysis, goals and objectives, and an action program for the next five years.

A public hearing will be held by the Township Board on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the Township Offices, located at the above noted address. All interested persons may attend the public hearing and comment on the draft Parks and Recreation Plan. Written comments concerning the draft Parks and Recreation Plan may be submitted to Jennifer Neal, Regional Planner, via email at jneal@eup-planning.org, up to the time of the public hearing.
