Public Comment Period for Master Plan Update is Open

Notice of Public Hearing
The Whitefish Township Planning Commission is seeking public comment on the Whitefish Township Master Plan to help make the document more accurate and usable. Please feel free to share your opinions or comments on the Whitefish Township Master Plan in one of the following ways:
1. Send an email with your comments to clerk@whitefishtownshipmi.gov
2. Leave your comments in the drop box at the entrance to the Community Center
3. Send a letter with your comments to: Whitefish Township PO Box 350 Paradise, Michigan 49768
Background information: On July 10, 2024, the Whitefish Township Planning Commission voted to approve (with no changes) the draft Master Plan 2024 Update and recommend it to the Board of Trustees for Board action. On July 11, 2024, the Board of Trustees voted to refer the draft back to the Planning Commission until a survey is done. On November 6, 2024, the Planning Commission voted to recommend to the Board of Trustees that the proposed draft public survey prepared by EUP Regional Planning and Development Commission not be done, and that the 63-day public comment period be opened by the Board.
On December 5, 2024, the Board voted to approve the draft Whitefish Township Master Plan Update of 2024 for distribution, and to open the required 63-day public comment period. The Public Comment period ends on March 19, 2025. As well as on the website www.WhitefishTownshipMI.gov, and at the Whitefish Township Public Library, a copy of the draft Master Plan will be available for public review at the Whitefish Township Offices during regular office hours. Further, the Whitefish Township Planning Commission will hold, as part of its regular meeting on March 19, 2025, a Public Hearing on the Master Plan, to give residents and stakeholders
further opportunity to provide their comments on the Plan. This hearing will be held at the Whitefish Township Community Center 7247 N M123, Paradise, on Wednesday March 19, 2025, at 7:00pm. Comments and questions may be posed in writing by mail at PO Box 350 Paradise, MI 49768, email (Clerk@whitefishtownship.gov) or by dropping off or leaving your comments in the drop box. Written comments for this March 19th Public Hearing must be received by Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 5:00pm to be included in the comments read at the hearing.
