Whitefish Township is located in the northwest corner of Chippewa County, bordered by Whitefish Bay on Lake Superior to the east and the Chippewa-Luce County line on the west. The township is roughly 25 miles long and twelve miles wide, for a total area of 293.6 square miles. The Tahquamenon River flows across the center of the township, which is home to the Tahquamenon Falls State Park.
